Coaches Stack

Why Coaches Stack?

It’s 9pm on a Tuesday. You’ve finally got the kids to bed, the washing’s still going round, and you’ve got training tomorrow night. So you open the laptop, type “fun passing drill U9” into Google, and forty-five minutes later you’ve got a dozen tabs open, three half-watched YouTube videos, and still no real plan for what you’re actually going to do.

Most grassroots coaches have had that night more times than they’d care to admit.

If you coach grassroots football, you’ll know the feeling. You didn’t take the team on to spend your evenings hunting for drills. You took it on because you love the game, and because a group of kids needed someone to step up. Chances are, nobody else did. So you put your hand up. And then you found out how much there is to it.

Coaching shouldn’t be this hard

Nobody warns you about this bit when you take the team on. The coaching itself is the easy part. It’s everything around it that eats your time.

Finding drills that work. Building a session that flows. Keeping a dozen eight-year-olds switched on for an hour without it descending into chaos. Then doing the whole thing again next week, and the week after. Plenty of coaches spend more time planning a session than the session lasts.

None of that is down to you. The trouble is that everything’s scattered. A drill on one site, a video on another, a half-remembered idea from a coaching course two years ago. So you patch something together, hope it works on the night, and turn up with your fingers crossed. It shouldn’t take that much out of you, and your players deserve more than something cobbled together at the last minute.

So we built something better

Coaches Stack puts everything you need to plan a great session in one place.

Over 300 drills and games, with more added all the time, covering every age and ability. Whether it’s your first session with the U6s or a sharp possession game for your U14s, each one is clear, quick to read, and ready to run on the night.

Ready-made session plans you can pick, print and take straight to the pitch. Full sessions that already flow, so you’re not stitching drills together at 10pm. Find one that fits and go.

And it works on whatever you’ve got to hand. Your phone on the touchline, your laptop at the kitchen table, your tablet in the car before training. You search, you find it in seconds, and you get your evening back.

That’s the point of it. Less time planning, more time coaching.

Built by coaches, for coaches

There’s no shortage of slick apps out there promising to “transform your coaching journey.” This isn’t one of them.

Coaches Stack was built from the grassroots up, by people who’ve stood on a freezing touchline in February, wondering why they bother, but also know full well why they do. We talk the way you do, because we’re coaches too.

So there’s no jargon, no complicated setup, and nothing designed for academy kids with a sports science team behind them. Just practical tools for the real problems grassroots coaches deal with every week, on the pitch and off it. Built for the way you actually coach.

When coaches win, players win

It all comes back to one idea: better sessions make better players.

When you turn up prepared, the whole night feels different. Nobody’s stood around waiting. The kids are learning because the drills suit their age, and they’re enjoying it. A kid who enjoys training is a kid who comes back next week, and the week after, and sometimes for good.

That’s what good coaching really does. It’s not about trophies or winning at U8s. It’s the quieter stuff: a bit more confidence, a few good mates, a reason to get off the sofa on a Saturday. Sometimes it’s a kid who stays in the game for the next forty years because their first coach made it fun.

You’re the one who can give them that, and we’re here to make it easier. Although coaching sounds daunting, there is a real buzz when you have a good session, and you see the impact you’re having.
